I was a picky eater growing up. I only wanted two things...french fries & cheese quesadillas. To finish my dinner I had to be threatened. "If you don't finish your food, no dessert," and there was no way I wasn't having dessert! However, there was one place I wouldn't turn down..Mickey D's. I grew up just blocks from the golden arches and loved nothing but their french fries. As my taste buds grew, so did my choices at Mickey's. That's when I found the Big Mac®! It was the catch phrase heard everywhere… two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun! Whether you live in L.A. or China, you have probably tasted a Big Mac! And if you haven’t, here’s one more reason to try it!
Your first thought might be to pair a burger with a big red wine. This pairing works for many burgers, but for the Big Mac, my favorite wine to drink is an off-dry Riesling! The sweetness of the wine cuts through the salt and contrasts perfectly with the tanginess of the special sauce. This is by far, one of my favorite pairings! Other wines to try with a Big Mac® are Gewurztraminer, Chenin Blanc, white Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon among many.
