Girly girls don't change tires. We wait for what will hopefully be a handsome, buff hero in the form of a passerby or AAA. We talk on our cell phones until someone arrives and then relax in the driver's seat while scrolling through Facebook as the tire gets fixed. God forbid we have to mess up our gel manicures complete with pop art we spent hours getting! That would be the real nightmare! Then, when that handsome stranger knocks on the window to tell us it's finished, we give him the sweetest thank you one can muster up and drive off as we call our boyfriend.
Apple Jacks with wine was something I never anticipated trying but as I passed through the cereal aisle on a recent trip to the grocery store, I thought why not? My initial idea was a California Chardonnay, but since I'm trying to be cool and interesting I tried a bottle of 2004 Bethany Semillion and Roederer Estate Sparkling Wine NV. Neither one did the trick. Of the two, Roederer Estate faired the best with its nose of cinnamon, vanilla and apples but lacked the sugar needed to stand up to the sweetness of the cereal. So what did I do? I went to the store and grabbed a bottle of Towbin James Chardonnay like I should have done in the first place and watched the magic happen. Towbin James Chardonnay has enough residual sugar to stand up to the cereal and complementary apple and vanilla aromas that mimicked the breakfast treat. It was one of those moments I wished I had listened to my instinct and tried 3 wines instead of one before my photo-shoot date! Cheers to hot men that don't mind getting dirty and following my intuition in the future!
